Portable, flat panel speakers from Pioneer fit the bill for parties and open-air events

In response to the demand for high quality, yet lightweight, portable speakers, Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. introduced the
S-FL1 flat panel speaker designed for use at parties or events that require great sound quality with compact speakers. Pioneer created the slim-design speaker using NXT(tm) SurfaceSound,(tm) which is based on Distributed Mode Loudspeaker technology. The S-FL1 flat panel speaker offers easy installation, and provides consistently high-quality sound throughout the entire listening area. It is ideal for mobile DJs and bands playing at small clubs, music bars, parties and other open-air events. The speakers also provide a good solution for press conferences, graduations, picnics and company meetings where a variety of people will make presentations to a large audience.

"This new speaker provides a tremendous amount of sound in a small package. The S-FL1 weighs in at just more than 20 pounds and is only two inches deep. It can be mounted with almost any third-party speaker bracket for easy set up and tear down," said Karl Detken, director of product planning at Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

High Quality Audio

Pioneer's new flat panel speaker system with NXT technology radiates sound across the surface of the speaker. This produces uniform sound across the entire listening area. Its performance specifications include:

• Exciter: Voice Coil Diameter 25 mm X 4
• Nominal Impedance: 8 ohm
• Frequency Response: 60 - 15,000 Hz
• Output sound level: 90 dB
• Permissible input: 240W

The PIONEER DJS software update is now available

Pioneer is constantly monitoring customer feedback and making adjustments/improvements when possible. We have taken reoccurring suggestions from customers and have implemented an update to the DJS software. This new version will amongst other things allow you to "batch" import your Mp3 folders. Prior to this you had to import them folder by folder (which could tend to be very tedious). Now it will import the folder you designate PLUS all the sub-folders. Read below some of the other changes that this update brings.

p.s. Those that have the 30 day trial ARE using the new updated version.

1. Import ALL songs within a folder AND it’s sub-folder all at once
2. Allows import of MP3 files with Null at header area
3. Right clicking on knobs and parameters instantly moves position marker to center
4. Operates EQ on/off via Keyboard
5. Able to do 2 different operations via keyboard at the same time

The update must be done when the program is open via the support link.

PIONEER'S DVJ UPGRADE NOW AVAILABLE!

In their continued quest to add more value to their product and lead the market, Pioneer Electronics Inc. offers the leaders of the next generation of DJs a DVJ System update which modifies the player's firmware. Further information (Update Contents, Program Update Procedure and a Software Update program disc) will be sent to users who have registered their players. Pioneer would like to ask all users who have not yet registered their players to do so in order to be eligible for the update.

System update outline

• MP3 playback on CD-R/RW media
  (MP3 text information can been monitored through Preview Monitor output)
• Track loop
  Loops one track by pressing Emergency Loop button for more than one second.
• Added Digital Audio output while in DJ mode
• Added Playing Address and Wave display to preview monitor output
• Added Compatibility with PAL and NTSC DVD discs
• Added Compatibility with some Promo Only DVDs that have unusual authoring

(DVJ displays something to the effect of DJ MODE DISABLED when certain Promo Only discs are played).
