X-LINE IDEA MOVING HEAD PROJECTORS

SGM introduces the X-LINE, a new range of products created to provide high quality performances with an exceptional quality/price ratio. X-LINE IDEA is a new family of moving heads which offer great reliability and a stylish and modern design. IDEA line is made of four models, fitted with 250W or 575W discharge lamps: IDEA Spot 250, IDEA Wash 250, IDEA Spot 575 and IDEA Wash 575.

Design: SGM has dedicated special attention to the functionality and look of its projectors; IDEA moving heads offer modern and stylish lines that enable them to blend harmonically into the contexts where aesthetics is an important factor.

luminosity: High level performances are guaranteed by the use of a Phillips MSD 250/2 lamp – luminous flux 18.000 Lumens, base GY9,5, colour temperature 8.500°K (Spot 250 & Wash 250) – or a Phillips MSR 575/2 lamp -- luminous flux 49.000 Lumens, base GX9,5, colour temperature 5.600°K (Spot 575 & Wash 575).

zoom: The IDEA Spot 250 has a 13° beam angle (18° and 21° on request); IDEA Spot 575 has three selectable beam angles (13°, 18° and 21°). IDEA Wash 250 and IDEA Wash 575 are equipped with a motorized zoom which allows linear beam adjustment between 13°-23° (Wash 250) and 16°-28° (Wash 575). The IDEA moving heads combine high-quality projection with high luminous efficiency: 6.500 Lux / 4m with 13° angle (Spot 250); 8.800 Lux / 4m with 13° angle (Wash 250); 11.000 Lux / 4m with 13° angle (Spot 575); 12.300 Lux / 4m with 16° angle ( Wash 575).

motorized focus: Thanks to the motorized focus (IDEA Spot 250 and IDEA Spot 575), projected images can be kept in focus at any projection angle and from any distance.

colours: IDEA Spot 250 and IDEA Spot 575 are fitted with a colour wheel comprising 8 colours + white with dichroic filters with high chromatic yield. IDEA Wash 250 and IDEA Wash 575 offer a CMY colour generation system integrated by a colour wheel with 6 colours + white, and 2 conversion filters (3.200°K & 5.600°K), which enable to obtain an endless range of colours.

beam shaper + frost: The beam shaper and frost in IDEA Wash 250 and IDEA Wash 575 allow the projection of a rotating (0-180°) long rectangular light beam, ideal for both illuminating long surfaces – either horizontal or vertical – and colouring particularly large backgrounds.

gobos: The IDEA Spot 250 and IDEA Spot 575 gobo group consists in a wheel containing 7 gobos (2 Dichro and 5 Metal) which can be rotated in both directions and are indexable; all of them are easily interchangeable. Besides the built-in gobos, 5 additional metal gobos are supplied. SGM puts a wide range of gobos at operators’ disposal, which can be used both to sculpt the light beams and to project images. SGM’s complete image library has three different types of gobo: Metal, Dichro and Texture.

prism: IDEA Spot 250 and IDEA Spot 575 are equipped with a 3-faced rotating prism either clockwise or counterclockwise. The prism and gobos are totally independent and can be mixed liberally, in order to obtain a large range of eye catching effects.

advanced pan/tilt control: A completely new electronics ensures precise smooth movement (Pan 540° / Tilt 320°) and very high speed: Pan 2.8 sec./ Tilt 2 sec. (IDEA Spot 250 / Wash 250); Pan 3.9 sec. / Tilt 2.6 sec. (IDEA Spot 575 / Wash 575). Automatic repositioning of the fixtures is guaranteed by a dedicated Encoder. This avoids operators having to carry out lengthy manual realignment procedure or even a total reset. IDEA fixtures offer a more flexible control of the movements, thanks to the velocity control of the Pan and Tilt and to the “Super Speed” function.

automatic operation: IDEA projectors can also be set to operate in automatic mode (either as master or slave units); 3 programs are stored in the internal memory and one is user programmable.

built-in micro-computer: IDEA moving heads are equipped with an internal microcomputer that enables to customize the fixture in the manner most suited to the type of installation. By means of the built-in LED display, it’s possible to control every information on fixtures’ operation: DMX addresses, Pan and Tilt movements, motors calibration, fan speed control, lamp and projector life, etc. The display’s messages can be flipped through 180° to facilitate operators’ work.

dmx connections: The connection to IDEA projectors can be made through a 3- or 5-pole XLR. The connector can be selected with a simple operation.

guarantee: X-LINE offers the same reliability of any SGM fixtures, two years warranty, and an efficient after-sale service provided by SGM’s technical staff. 07/05

GIOTTO SPOT 400 CMY

The GIOTTO SPOT 400 CMY is a brand new moving head projector designed for use in high-profile entertainment applications, in concerts, theatres and television studios. It offers the most advanced features in its class, including 400W hot re-strike MSR lamp, 11°-22° motorized zoom, advanced CMY colour generation system + 1 colour wheel with 6 colours and white, 2 rotating indexable gobo wheels and 1 animation wheel, linear iris, linear frost, linear CTO filter, 1 rotating prism, electronic ballast, absolute silent operation and cooling.

GIOTTO SPOT400 CMY is fitted with a 400W discharge lamp, used along with an optical group that gives extraordinary luminous power (12,000 Lux at 5 m.), the ideal choice for the countless applications in which a less powerful fixture would be insufficient and a more powerful one excessive. The electronic ballast (90-245V / 50/60Hz) ensures bright flicker-free light. The motorized 11°- 22° zoom gives beam angles otherwise only obtainable with more expensive fixtures.

GIOTTO SPOT 400 CMY offers lighting designers an advanced CMY mixing colour system made of 3 palettes, which allows to obtain a uniform light beam and an infinite range of shades, from the most saturated to the softest colours, with efficient control of their tones. The CMY system is integrated by a linear CTO filter and a further colour wheel with 6 colours + white.

GIOTTO SPOT 400 CMY has a comprehensive series of features to create a wide variety of lighting effects: 2 customizable gobo wheels (8 interchangeable rotating indexable gobos + white each), one interchangeable animation wheel, motorized focus, linear iris, 1 multi-facet rotating prism, etc.

GIOTTO SPOT 400 CMY was designed paying great attention to absolute silent operation and cooling, a key priority for theatre and television applications. The head movement and the fixture’s internal mechanism also have an extremely low noise level. Cooling is via convection, thanks to the mechanical connection of the dichroic reflector with a metal heat sink which disperses heat towards the rear of the fixture; two very low-speed fans are only triggered when necessary, ensuring sufficient air circulation for perfect fixture operation even with a high surrounding temperature (up to 50°C). A phonometric test in an anechoic chamber of a Giotto 400 made by Istituto Giordano S.p.A. shows a noise level of 31.8 dB at 1 mt.

GIOTTO SPOT 400 CMY is powerful and versatile, yet compact and light weight; in fact, the fixture can be easily transported and installed by a single operator, thanks to the practical handles and ‘Fast Lock’ hanging clamps. When you need both the brightness of bigger lamps and the size of a small projector, the GIOTTO SPOT 400 CMY is the ideal choice. User-friendly maintenance is ensured by facilitated head opening and easy access to internal components; relamping can be done rapidly without moving the lamp holder. 07/05

Antari VIVID Line of Effects Machines

Up to now, no effects machines have been truly designed specifically for the DJ market. With the new VIVID brand by Antari, things have changed. All machines in the independent VIVID line have been developed with input from DJs around the world.

The VIVID V-1 fog machine is the first offering in the line that will eventually offer lighting, effects, and DJ mixing equipment. Drawing on the Antari’s experience in the lighting effects market, this smoke machine offers great performance and styling in a small, portable package. The unit is the size of an iron but generates a steady, high volume burst of smoke and, unlike competing machines, can keep smoking at full volume continuously for as long as needed. This ability to generate steady, continuous fog is due to the use of Antari’s ECO thermal control system.

This machine was designed by Antari’s R&D team for VIVID and has been heavily tested both independently and in-house to guarantee a smoke machine that is better in performance, dependability and style than anything else that has been offered to the DJ market yet. The V-1’s case is made of sturdy, impact resistant plastic and is available in four colours. The V-1 has an internal liquid tank, fluid level indicator, nozzle protector, built in handle, and comes with a 10m wired remote control with one touch constant fogging and a ready to fog LED indicator.

VIVID VF-1 Fazer

This dragon breathes… haze! Using regular water based fog liquid, the VIVID VF-1 Fazer creates a translucent haze perfect for lighting applications. The VF-1 is a compact unit that continues with the theme of style, function and economy that defines the VIVID line of effects machines.

The VF-1 Fazer allows the user to bring their lighting to life whether it is used with a few lights or a full lighting system. The top mounted fan at the front of the Fazer forces the haze to expand while pushing it downwards. This disperses the haze so that the light can be seen while not obscuring everything else in a cloud of smoke. From ground level, the haze expands upwards to provide effective coverage in any venue. The VF-1 Fazer has been designed for DJs, keeping in mind, style, portability and performance.

Owing to the ECO thermal control system, the VF-1 can haze continuously. For timer control there is a simple timer button built into the handle of the VF-1 that controls the duration of haze blasts. Using this function, the interval between blasts is set for 10 seconds and the duration can be set between 3 seconds and 3 minutes by holding the button down for the amount of time desired for each blast.

The VF-1’s metal case, has an internal fluid tank, fan guard, fluid level indicator and comes with a 10m wired remote.

VIVID VB-1 Bubbler

This machine is destined to be a favourite with DJs. Using a wheel with a double set of bubble wands, the VB-1 can quickly throw hundreds of bubbles into the air.

A large fan at the back of the unit pushes the liquid out of the wands forming bubbles that swirl out of the machines mouth and descend to the crowd below. The hanging bracket allows for the option of hanging the bubbler from a truss to increase bubble travel.

This bubble machine has been designed for easy operation and maintenance without giving up any ground on performance. The unit has a hinge bottom that allows the wheel and liquid tray to be quickly cleaned. Re-filling can be done this way or through the opening top of the machine.

The VB-1’s rounded metal case looks like it’s from the future and creates an expectation that only the cascade of bubbles it generates can live up to.

VIVID VS-1 Snower

The VS-1 Snower is a full powered snow machine in a compact case. The snow machine’s fan forces the snow out at high velocity which carries it to a considerable distance. Using the hanging bracket allows the VS-1 to be placed above the crowd and the snow to fall over them in a large cone shaped area.

Antari’s R&D team has designed the VS-1 Snower for VIVID. Their expertise coupled with extensive testing, promise an exceptional snow machine. This promise is delivered by the VS-1 10/04
