EAW offers a wide range of professional loudspeaker products
for Touring, A/V, Installed Sound and Cinema. EAW has
been making industry leading loudspeaker solutions for
over twenty years. EAW products are designed to offer
superior features and performance.
Occasionally imitated, but never duplicated EAW is the
jewel in the loudspeaker industries crown.
The development of audio technologies is a science - but it is
also an art. To merge both concepts together during loudspeaker
design requires ingenious technical skill and passionate creativity.
Since its inception in 1978, EAW has successfully displayed the
mastery of this conceptual merger through their highly acclaimed
and technologically superior product offerings. Year after year,
EAW leads the professional audio industry in technical audio advancement
and creative loudspeaker design. As a result, EAW has become the
worldwide technological and market leader in the design and manufacture
of high-performance, professional loudspeaker design.
EAW is widely used by contractors and touring companies
around the world.

EAW's goal for every loudspeaker system is to provide
flat power response and minimal distortion as applied
to a given application. As a result, the entire EAW product
range sounds remarkably similar, from the ultra-compact
UB12Se to the massive KF900 Series. Since integrated active
electronic signal processing is included into the total
system, the processors do not employ dynamic effects.
This ensures that the sound quality remains consistent
at all output levels. All EAW processors are created as
crossovers precisely aligned (Close Coupled) to
the systems they are designed to control.
EAW speakers are frequently specified on concert tours
and high profile installations around the world for these
very reasons.
By using a steady stream of core technologies and competencies,
EAW has maintained a leadership position in the professional
loudspeaker industry. The evolution of the EAW product
family and design philosophy centers around four major
technological innovations:
Innovation #1:
Prior to the introduction of EAW pre-packaged three-way
systems, industry professionals created their own loudspeaker
systems. The EAW packaged loudspeaker system proved to
be a landmark turning point in the professional audio
industry. By loading complimentary drivers and horns into
a carefully designed enclosure, a level of consistency
and performance far exceeding that of the highest skilled
industry professionals was achieved.
Innovation #2:
Customized and Application-specific Systems. As packaged
loudspeaker systems gained popularity, acoustic consultants
started incorporating them into their designs. Since certain
types of projects called for variances to the packaged
approach, EAW modified the packaging process to respond
to individual project's needs. Eventually, many of these
designs were manifested into general-purpose products.
Innovation #3:
Broadband Pattern Control. Some of the first EAW products
were based on three-way designs using horn-loaded MF and
HF drivers. Working with industry professionals, EAW developed
techniques for extending pattern control into the lower
frequencies through the use of new approaches to horn
design, driver arrays and signal processing. Such pattern
control is particularly important for systems used in
large spaces, or where feedback is potential. From these
developments, smooth broadband pattern control is now
a design factor for all EAW sound reinforcement products.
Innovation #4:
Array Optimization and Pattern Steering through DSP,
extending out of Broadband Pattern Control is the development
of techniques for improving pattern control using electronic
means. The core technology was developed as part of the
KF900 Series project. To support electronically controllable
arrays, EAW has developed a number of ancillary tools
and technologies. These include modelling tools for acoustical
sources, venues, filters, air-loss and related parameters,
as well as measurement systems and techniques unique to
this process. The KF900 technologies also extend to other
EAW products, such as MQ, KF750 and KF760 families and
custom products.
